In reply to Kelly C. Dowels would probably work great. Only issue I could anticipate is if the top gets wet, it might bow if now now screwed down. Maybe add double stick tape...? Let me know how that works for you.

I’ve been wanting to build a workbench for a while now, looked at folding ones but not what I wanted, then I found this!! This bench is exactly what I was looking for, not only that, but I have pretty much all the exact same tools!! Your design and execution is fantastic!!

I took to building it over the weekend and are pretty close to finishing it.

Question on the top piece, thoughts on using dowels to place the top over? I was thinking it would be easier to replace a worn out top.
