In reply to Iris Day. We used old lumber which has more strength than new lumber you can purchase today. You can use an online calculator to find out what size lumber you need to use based on the width of your ladder and which wood you are using.

Love the house and appreciate the time and effort it took to turn it from an ugly duckling to a beautiful swan. One question – I need to build a loft ladder – did you use 2 x 4’s or 2 x 6’s? My ladder will need to be movable and I’m thinking that 2 x 6’s will be too heavy but concerned that 2 x 4’s will not be sturdy enough for adults to use frequently.

What company did you list the house with and how do we find out more info about it being for sale? You guys did a fabulous job!!
