I’m in Knoxville too!!
I bought 10 acres of land with a house that’s over 100 years old. Since it was just me working on it with a smaller budget I decided to go back to work And hire out the building stuff. (I work as a pipeline inspector)
The drywall is being finished and I’ll be back home in a month to build custom cabinets in the laundry room, closets, etc. And I was watching your video on the master closet and told my hubby that I found a new best friend somewhere near Knoxville. He said “does she know this yet?” Lol
I’m so in love with your blog and it makes me so jealous that I’m working instead of usingy shop to build stuff this summer.
Oh well, soon enough I’ll be back in my shop complaining about woodcrafts hours.

I stumbled across you on YouTube while I was looking at various videos on crown molding. (Ironically, I watched your Festool drywall sanding video instead of your crown molding vids. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

Since we are in the same area, I’d love to know who your vendors and trades are. We are three years into a six month remodel of our 1945 money pit. I am uniquely gifted at hiring dishonest and incompetent tradespeople, so we have defaulted to doing much of the work ourselves.

I would especially love to know the name of your spray foam company. All my friends have been talked into open cell for their rafters, and the lack of a vapor barrier seems like a really, really bad idea in our Tennessee humidity.

In my research, the closed cell foam insulation has a higher R-value than the open cell. Yes, it is a bit more expensive. Was cost the main reason you opted for the open cell for the walls? I have a room above our garage that I’m hoping that one day will be a studio. I did the wiring and the next step is having the foam insulation done.

With the next up coming round of work, are you able to bring in some kind of space heater to at least make working more comfortable?
